Seminar 7 – Official LIVE Project Booklet
The NJW LIVE Project Seminar 7 Official Booklet examines the legal and human rights dimensions of gender-based violence, with a particular focus on conflict-related sexual and gender-based violence (CRSV-GBV), hate speech, and emerging online harms. Featuring contributions from keynote speaker Toby Mendel and guest speaker Jamileh Naso, the booklet explores international and Canadian legal frameworks, the experiences of Yazidi survivors of the ISIS genocide, accountability mechanisms for atrocity crimes, and the evolving regulation of digital platforms and artificial intelligence. Through legal analysis and survivor-centred perspectives, the booklet reinforces the importance of accessible justice, informed advocacy, and the protection of vulnerable communities from both physical and technology-facilitated forms of gender-based violence.
