Policy on Human Rights Protection in Turkey
Northern Justice Watch is committed to protecting human rights globally, emphasizing accountability for crimes against humanity. We are aware of the alarmingly high number of allegations of human rights violations happening in the current regime in Turkey, and we focus our attention and resources on fostering justice and accountability for newcomers and survivors of Turkey origin seeking support from our organization. To achieve this, we will, among other things:
- Monitor, document, and publicly report on human rights violations in Turkey by relying on evidence-based findings and remaining impartial in our documentation;
- Provide advocacy and support tailored to newcomers and survivors of Turkey origin seeking support from our organization, and focus on the promotion of humane treatment and the release of political prisoners whose right to a fair trial were violated;
- Form strategic partnerships with other organizations and government bodies at all levels to provide relief to newcomers and survivors of Turkey origin seeking support from our organization;
- Engage in interventions to facilitate the opening of investigations and other redress-seeking processes for newcomers and survivors of Turkey origin seeking support from our organization.
We, as Northern Justice Watch, are deeply concerned about the human rights situation in the current Turkish regime. The Northern Justice Watch is dedicated to upholding the principles of equality, dignity, and respect for all individuals, regardless of their political and social opinions. We firmly believe that freedom of expression is one of the fundamental rights that can only enrich our society and shall not be punished.
Given the alarming allegations of serious atrocity crimes in Turkey, we call upon government bodies at all levels to conduct thorough investigations into these allegations. It is our unwavering belief that every individual possesses an inherent right to dignity and worth, and we are committed to advocating for justice and accountability in Turkey.
